Background:
Opened in 1951, Annie Holgate Junior shares a greenfield campus with infant and senior schools. The school boasts spacious classrooms and storage areas, in addition to four libraries, an audio-visual room, music room, resource room and an ICT suite with 25 computers. Outdoor facilities include large hard and grass play areas, a pond and environmental area, three football pitches and an adjacent field and jumping pit. The Individual Needs Centre (Deaf) forms an integral part of the school and up to eight deaf children are integrated into mainstream classes. The school offers several after-school clubs such as football, netball, gymnastics, table tennis, athletics, basketball, drama, keyboard and recorder. The school aims to raise the expectations for its pupils both within and outside the school and ensure that the children's self-esteem and aspirations are high.
