Background:

Eastwood Comprehensive School is very proud to be a Specialist Arts College and have achieved Artsmark Gold. The school has a long and proud tradition of sporting activity and achievement, within and beyond the curriculum. The school runs team in football, rugby, netball, badminton, basketball, cricket, athletics, cross-country and rounders. There are extensive playing fields on site and pupils have access to floodlit astro-turf courts in addition to tennis courts and field and athletics track in addition. Indoor facilities include a four-court fully equipped sports hall and gymnasium. The whole school is also involved in the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme, and offers an annual school camp each summer where pupils can a sample a range of outward-bound activities. The school also provides learning in dance, drama, music and arts technologies. The school has international links also exchanging visits with Germany and Hungary, residential trips to Europe and USA; internet links across the world. The school has specialist suites of classrooms or laboratories for each subject area, drama and dance studios, sports hall and gymnasium, music facilities, including recording, performing and practice rooms, art and design facilities, including workshops, kitchen and vocational courses.
