Background:

The school is situated in Cotgrave, a small town near Nottingham. The school was built in the 1960s and one of three on the same campus. The others being its feeder school, Cotgrave Infant School and Highfield Primary School. Manvers Junior has its own field and playground. The rest of its grounds have been well developed to include ponds and conservation areas. There has been extensive planting of trees and plants around the school, as well as many playground improvements. The school building consists of a large hall equipped for gym, dinning area, computer room, library, information suite, small group rooms and eight classrooms as well as administration rooms. The school is delighted that it has been awarded the Primary Quality Mark from the basic skills agency for demonstrating excellence in teaching literacy and numeracy and Investor in People status. It has an excellent record for involving children in sports and clubs. The school has had two Olympic medallists come through the Manvers School experience in recent years. The school aims to create a learning environment where every child is able to reach their full potential and achieve high standards.
