Background:
Opened in January 1974 in pleasant suburban surroundings; the only Catholic primary school in Rushcliffe, serving large population from a wide geographical area. Over-subscribed; almost 90 per cent of pupils live in the parish of West Bridgford, while the rest come from neighbouring parishes: Radcliffe on Trent, Bingham, Keyworth and Cotgrave; many children travel in by bus. Religious education is integrated into whole curriculum. Wide variety of extra-curricular activities includes team games with inter-house and other school competitions: football, basketball, netball, rounders, athletics, judo, cricket, drama, and cycling proficiency; individual and group tuition available in strings, woodwind and brass. Pupils in Years 5 and 6 can participate in judo club and the orchestra, for which there are charges. All pupils take part in the annual sports day. DfES achievement award (2001, 2002, 2003). Ethos: 'The school aims to provide a living and worshipping community enabling both parents and children to enter into the full life of the Church'.
