Background:

The school, founded in 1974, is located in the village of Keyworth. The open-plan school has excellent facilities, including a carpeted hall, fully-equipped music room, computers with internet access, library and resources area, wheelchair access and large playgrounds. All children take part in class outings, and occasionally there is a day-trip for the whole school. Pupils in Years 5 and 6 end the school year with a week-long residential visit. Sports include football, summer sports, orienteering and tennis, with many children playing in inter-school tournaments. Extra-curricular activities include chess club, French and choir, and some children learn a musical instrument; several dramatic productions are staged each year. The school encourages all parents to become involved in their children's education and the parent-teacher association organises family events. Pupils are regularly involved in charity fundraising and helping groups in the community. Over-subscribed. After-school care, until 6pm, through link with local group, The Hideout.
