Background:
Glapton Primary and Nursery School is a primary and nursery school for boys and girls. The age range of the pupils is 3 to 11. The school is very well provided with the space necessary for a range of exploratory experiences in the fields of mathematics, art/craft, environmental studies, computer work and science. It has a computer suite in its library. This includes 15 internet machines, which the children will use to enhance their learning. Children's individual skills are developed for each sport and they participate in team games during lesson times. The main sports taught are football, netball, rounders, swimming, athletics and gymnastics, making good use of both grass and hard court areas. The school aims to create a caring community, which shows concern and respect for the welfare of others regardless of race, sex or age by exercising sensitivity, tolerance, goodwill and service.
