Background:
Robert Miles Junior opened in May 1965 in a 'spacious' site next to Bingham market place. In addition to eight classrooms, it has four shared spaces, a main hall which is used for physical education, school dinners and assemblies, and a library. The 'superb' school gardens contain many mature tress and 'extensive' lawns. A playing field, all weather cricket pitch and hard surfaced area provide outdoor facilities for break times and sports. Pupils may attend after school clubs for football, netball, choir, chess, summer games and cycling proficiency. In 2000, the school received an Investors in People award. Pupils with special education needs (SEN) are integrated into all areas of life at the school and are encouraged to take part in all activities. An after-school club is operated in conjunction with the Robert Miles Infant School. The school received Beacon school stats in September 2001.
