Background:
Robert Shaw Primary School was founded in 1950. The two-storey school site has two playgrounds, a sports field, an environment area and a four seasons garden with pond. Indoor facilities include a hall and computer suite, and a rolling programme of redecoration and refurbishment is in operation. All children have swimming lessons and other sporting activities include football, netball and tennis, with some pupils playing in inter-school competitions. Extra-curricular activities include instrumental tuition and chess club. The school has an active Parent Teacher Association, and parent participation in school life is always sought. The school aims to build a safe, happy and trustworthy community where every member is valued and treated with respect.
