Background:

The Holgate School is a large country, co'educational comprehensive, for students aged 11 to 18. It is housed in two sets of building on an extensive campus, with excellent sports fields and hard court facilities. A wide range of extra- curricular activities are offered at lunchtime and after-school. These activities include soccer, netball, basketball, cricket, athletics, rounders and cross-country. Other club facilities are badminton, martial arts, aerobics, volley ball and trampolining. The school enters teams in all the popular games and inter-school matches are a regular feature of the school calendar. There is a strong music tradition within the school, with opportunity for students to join choir, orchestra, and instrument groups. Many visits and exchanges are arranged, both locally and in Europe. The school aims to enabling every student to acquire the knowledge, skills and experience needed in its fast changing society and to develop attitudes of good citizenship and community responsibility.
