Background:

Garibaldi College has 1200 students aged between 11-18 years, and serves the areas of Forest Town and Clipstone. There is an energy and enthusiasm that abounds in all aspects of college life. This energy is apparent in the many different initiatives and projects that are always taking place. The college has a philosophy that encourages everyone to step outside their 'comfort zone' and try out new ideas. The local community plays an important part in the life of Garibaldi College. Sports facilities are open for community use every evening and there is a drop-in centre for ICT training. Sports facilities include purpose-built sports hall, indoor barn, gymnasium, all weather floodlit facility, tennis courts, two football pitches, one rugby pitch and a climbing wall. The school's links with local sports clubs ensures a natural path of progression for all youngsters who strive to improve their skills and knowledge of sports. The school aims to form the centre of a learning community, sharing the benefits of mathematics and computing status with its educational and community partners and to provide students with the opportunities to improve their skills and develop their attitudes and aptitudes so that they can play a major role in the future of the Mansfield area.
