Background:

Lakeview is a community primary and nursery school and caters for children from three to 11 years. The school has a dedicated ICT suite with 16 server based desktop machines and 12 portable laptops all wireless networked and internet connected. Two interactive whiteboards and projectors have been an exciting addition to its ICT resources and are valuable teaching aids. The school tries to meet the enthusiasms of the children by providing a varied selection of extra-curricular activities. At the present time, there is a school orchestra and there are boys' and girls' football clubs, cricket, dance, netball, gym clubs and Year 6 story appreciation and computer club. It also has a busy annual programme of theatre groups/providers into school to supplement, extend and enrich the curriculum. The school has achieved Sport Englands prestigious 'Activemark Gold' award, the National Healthy Schools Standard in 'Physical Activity' and are also a Football Association Charter School. The school aims to provide a well-disciplined, stimulating and safe environment where pupils can engage in active learning tasks within a purposeful atmosphere.
