Background:
Orchard Primary School and Nursery was founded in 1900. It is situated at the side of the main road which runs through Kirkby in Nottinghamshire. Facilities include a purpose-built nursery and a second teaching block, housing five classrooms and a library. The school has a playing field at the rear, which is used all year round for games lessons and for school breaks in the summer months. The playground is painted with games and activities to occupy the children. The nursery and reception classes have their own enclosed outdoor play areas. The whole site is securely surrounded by fences and hedges. After-school clubs include Art, Netball, Craft, Athletics, ICT, Dance, Football, and Newspaper.
