Background:
Robert Mellors Primary is situated in a large 1930's brick building, which was once a secondary school for boys and was converted to a primary school in the mid 1970s. Facilities include a computer suite, special educational needs (SEN) room and a large hall. A large playing field, hard surface play area, two football pitches, children's garden, pond area and environmental areas are all located within the grounds. A variety of school clubs operate during the year, including football, basketball, gym, choir, recorders, cooking, drama, cycling proficiency, netball and cricket. All but the very youngest children have swimming lessons once a week at a local pool. Competitive matches are arranged in a number of team sports such as basketball and football.
