Background:
St Patrick's Catholic Primary and Nursery School was built in late 1960s. It is happy, well-established and successful school situated in pleasant surroundings on outskirts of Mansfield. It draws pupils from Mansfield, Rainworth, Blidworth, Clipstone and Forest Town, all areas of extensive new building development. Accommodation comprises new purpose-built Foundation Stage Unit for 26 part time Nursery places and 30 full time Reception pupils. In the mail school there are six classrooms for Years 1 to Years 6, two additional teaching areas, large assembly hall, IT suite, and dining area. A large tarmac area and two football pitches provide good space for recreation. Children participate in football, netball, basketball, rounders, swimming, athletics, and cross country. Musical instrument and French language tuition also offered. Music and drama are given a high priority. The school organizes residential trips to Wales or Derbyshire. The school aims to provide a safe, secure and caring environment and foster social, spiritual, academic and moral development.
