Background:
Tuxford School is an 11-19 comprehensive with specialist technology status. It offers a broad, high quality curriculum to all. The new school building won an award for its innovative design and its construction was filmed as an example of advanced technology. The first addition was the library block in 1972, built on the far side of the quadrangle, looking out over the school fields. In 1976 the local education authority decided to re-organise education in the county on comprehensive lines. In Years 10 and 11 all pupils study English, mathematics, science, technology, physical education, citizenship, religious education, information and communication technology (Year 10 only). High aspirations and high expectations leading to high achievement for all - within a safe, supportive and challenging environment.
