Background:
Winthorpe Primary School is a small and friendly village school with four classes and 102 children. The present school was opened in 1971 and was extended in 1976, 1998 and again in 2002. It has recently had a new infant classroom built due to increased numbers. The school is set in delightful grounds and has a rural aspect on the edge of Winthorpe village itself. The school runs soccer, netball, hockey, cricket, gymnastic, athletic and rounders teams according to the season and these frequently compete against neighbouring schools. The school aims to provide a calm, caring and positive environment.
