Background:

Halam CofE Primary School founded in 1854 by the Reverend A Tatham. The school was originally housed in a barn. Numerous changes have been made to the accommodation over the years, including the addition of a new classroom in April 2000. It is situated in a pleasant environment in a small village. After-school clubs include football, hockey, netball, drama, ecology, art, rounders, athletics and cricket. Tuition is available in the recorder, brass, strings and woodwind instruments. There are close links with the local church and an active PTA. Parents and children are leading the development of an environmental area. A part-time learning support assistant is employed to work with children who have Special Educational Needs (SEN) throughout the school.
